Janbler Torres-Santos, 25, was arrested on over the weekend by police in Weirton, West Virginia, and remains behind bars as he awaits extradition to Prince William County in connection to a March shooting.

Police say that he now faces charges of malicious wounding and use of a firearm in the commission of a felony stemming from the March 7 shooting outside La Caverna Bar and Grill.

Investigators say the incident began with a verbal altercation in the parking lot of the Dumfries Shopping Plaza around shortly before midnight when the victim, a 29-year-old man, reportedly exchanged words with a group before things got heated.

That’s when one person pulled a gun and fired, hitting the victim in the upper body.

The victim was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, but the shooter fled the scene before officers arrived.

Police later identified Torres-Santos as the suspect and issued warrants for his arrest on March 28.

Authorities believed he had ties to the Culpeper area and possibly drove a black Toyota Tacoma.

Months later, Torres-Santos was tracked down in West Virginia, where he remains incarcerated pending extradition. His court date in Virginia is still to be determined.
